Quartz composite sinks are heavy, rigid, and finished on the surfaces customers see. Most transit claims in this category trace back to three causes: insufficient corner protection, movement inside the carton, and handling at transfer points. For importers and distributors building container programs, the packaging specification is worth fixing at RFQ stage rather than after the first damaged shipment.
Why Quartz Composite Sinks Need Specific Transit Protection
A composite sink combines high mass with finished rims and corners. The rim and the bowl corners are the areas that suffer when a carton is dropped or when pallets shift during transfer. Packaging therefore focuses on spreading load across the carton and preventing the unit from moving inside it.
Carton Protection Considerations
Standard packing for our shipments uses an individual carton with EPE foam and corner protectors, palletized for sea freight. When you specify packaging, confirm:
- Carton grade and whether double-wall is required for your route
- Foam coverage on the rim and bowl corners
- Corner and edge protection at all four vertical edges
- Whether the unit is blocked from moving inside the carton
- Pallet pattern, stretch wrap, and strapping
Preventing Movement Inside the Carton
Movement inside the carton is a common cause of rim damage even when the outer carton looks intact. Ask your supplier how the unit is secured within the carton and consider a drop-and-inspection check on the first shipment of a new model.

Longer draining-board formats and extra-wide units change how cartons sit on a pallet:

Mixed-Model Container Planning
Mixed-model assortments are negotiable at RFQ stage. Plan the pallet pattern with model sizes in mind — mixing very long draining-board cartons with compact cartons on the same pallet layer creates uneven load. Confirm whether models ship on separate pallets or combined.
Pre-Loading and Receiving Inspection
Before loading: confirm carton count, pallet condition, and that corner protection is intact. On receipt: inspect cartons before signing, photograph damage at the pallet, and separate affected units before they enter inventory. Set this out in your purchase terms so claims are documented consistently.
